This year marks the 26th anniversary of the Telemann Ensemble. You may have been among those who attended the Telemann Ensemble last year’s 25th anniversary where baroque music and jazz were intertwined in a colourful musical vignette. Again this year, we will keep the magic flame alive and in another outstanding concert where the works of four of the greatest baroque composers, if not the greatest, will be performed by our group. Lully, Handel, Telemann and Bach will be reunited around the same table with all that their music entails, a message of hope and peace in works that will resonate in your ears and in your heart for a long time to come.

On the program, an instrumental piece by Telemann and three choral works by Lully, Handel and Bach. It is also the very first time in Canada that Jean-Baptiste Lully’s Motet Jubilate Deo will be performed. The score was obtained from the sole editor of that particular work. Also for the first time, the long tradition of Friday and Saturday concerts will be set aside for a Sunday afternoon performance that will take place in the same Church as last year’s, namely the Church of Saint-Thomas d’Aquin in Saint-Lambert.
